Resources

Changing your life might seem overwhelming at times.

One of the things I found out on my journey to a better life is that you are never alone if you choose not to be.

A lot of people are out there who can help you, and you don’t need to spend a bunch of money. There are a lot of free resources available to you if you know where to look. And of course, there are also very valuable resources available if you are willing to pay!

Here are a few sources who (whether they know it or not) have really helped me seeing clear in what I wanted to do.

Blog resources

Michelle from www.makingsenseofcents.com

Michelle’s free email course on “How to start a blog” is actually the first one I came across. She is the one who gave me the idea that blogging could be something I could go into.

Alex and Lauren from www.createandgo.co

I took their free 7-day blog ecourse, where they give you a whole lot of very actionable advice and tips on how to quickly start your blog without a lot of technical knowledge. They walk you through the process step-by-step. Another plus, their videos are fun to watch.

Rosemarie from www.busybudgeter.com

Rosemarie has plenty of cheat sheets to help you organize your time when blogging, I do like the 10 hour time block strategy and her simple blog planner page (free) is what I use every day to keep track of what goes on in my blog.

Ruth from www.livingwellspendingless.com

Ruth is the founder of EBA (Elite Blog Academy) which I hear is a very interesting course to follow if you are serious about blogging. Enrollment is only possible a few times a year. She also gives away free resources.

Freelance writing

Michael on www.thenopantsproject.com

I discovered Michael on a two-hour webinar, and the way he teaches compelled me to look for more.
I find Mike’s way of making you understand how to go about that freelancing world you got yourself into very interesting, and straight-to-the-point.
He has several communities like the nopantsprojects, the nopantsacademy, the happy writer course.

Tools

Finally, here are are a few tools I use on a daily basis for the design part of my blog posts.

Canva

Canva is a free web-based tool that will help you design amazing visuals for your blog posts, your social media posts, etc.
The free version offers a lot of features and you don’t need to sign up for a paying plan.

XnView

It’s a photo viewer, image resizer, batch image converter, and a whole bunch of other tools all in one. Best part? It’s free!
This is the tool I use to resize my pictures, before I upload them to Canva for some design.
You can download it here

Optimizilla

Optimizilla is an online image compressor, just drop your visual in the box and it will do the work.
You can do that in XnView too, but if you want only to compress your image, optimizilla is a very easy, straightforward tool to do it.
